This way guests can obtain the perks and use them for the season!

Level Up! is geared to guests (ages 7+ years) who haven’t been in bindings for a few years and are looking for a lesson package to get them carving, exploring new terrain, or simply improving overall for the love of the snow.

Groups are defined by age: 7-12 years, 13-18 years, and 19 years and up.

First Lesson

The first lesson in the program will focus on reminding you how the gear works, allowing you time to find your balance and get comfy sliding. It takes a bit to bring back that ol’ muscle memory!

You’ll get back to edge control for safe turning and stopping in no time. We know participants will be at different skill levels at the start and our instructors will ensure each is working on something specific or as a group to ensure everyone is challenged.

Learning to ski or snowboard is different than anything you’ve done before… but it’s also the best thing in the world once you get past the first few days.

On Day 1, you will learn the basics – getting fitted for your equipment, making your way over the beginner area, and meeting your ski or snowboard instructor.  Next you will learn how to stop and turn both ways. Keep in mind, everyone progresses at a different pace so, as long as you are having fun, you are having a successful first day.  You will spend your lesson in the Discover Area and the Bunny Hill.  Following your lesson, we strongly encourage you to spend the rest of your day practicing what you have learned while it is fresh.

Skiing

  • Learn about the equipment
  • Learn to stop
  • Learn to walk and slide on your skis
  • Learn to go down the hill in control and safely
  • Learn how to get up if you fall
  • Learn to ride the handle tow

Snowboarding

  • Learn about the equipment
  • Learn to skate on your snowboard with one foot to get around on the hill and in lift lines
  • Learn to use the edge of the board to go down the hill safely, while maintaining speed control, and stopping on command

  • Learn how to get up if you fall
  • Learn to ride the handle tow

2nd ~ 3rd ~ 4th Lessons

The next three lessons will progress your skills to linking turns of different widths/speeds, trying new terrain, checking out parallel or switch (if you’re not there already), taking skills to steeper runs and going off piste.

We know everyone learns at a different pace and our skilled instructors will keep each guest challenged!

With the first day jitters behind you, you’re ready for the lower mountain! At this point you will be comfortable in your ski or snowboard boots, walking around more confidently, able to step into your bindings with relative ease. Days 2-4 will focus on getting to the point where you can start to glide down the gentle slope, making easy turns in both directions, coming to a slow stop whenever you decide to.  They will also teach you how to safely ride the T-Bar lifts, opening up a whole new world to test your growing skillset.  By the end of Day 4, you will be confident on beginner (green) and intermediate (blue) trails, making turns left and right, in control, slowing or stopping whenever you like.
