Pass Powderkeg is pleased to announce a new partnership that will give all local youth (must be a resident of Municipality of Crowsnest Pass) the opportunity to ski.  Alongside KidSport Alberta, Pass Powderkeg Ski Society, & Municipality of Crowsnest Pass, we have designed a program that removes the financial barrier to skiing for families that otherwise could not afford to participate. Under this program, eligible local youth will receive a fully subsidized bundle including a youth season pass, full participation in the local school ski programs (Grades 1-6) or an individual lesson (Grades 7-12) and a seasonal equipment rental if required.

  • Complete all sections of the application and attach all required documentation.

  • Use the attached examples to fill in program information section (Online , Paper).

  • Submit or Mail completed application.

  • Applications will be reviewed within 30 days and communication will be sent out. Incomplete applications will be returned and will face a delay.
  • Please contact KidSport directly (crowsnestpass@kidsport.ab.ca) if any questions.

  • This Program is available to residents of Crowsnest Pass and is administered by the local KidSport chapter.

  • Eligibility is determined on the basis of financial need.

  • This program will begin reviewing applications in October with grants being made on a first come first serve basis.

  • All information provided to KidSport will be treated as confidential and will only be disclosed to KidSport personnel who need the information to administer the program.

  • Pass Powderkeg will be notified by KidSport of grant recipients.

For kids requiring equipment, a seasonal equipment rental will be provided if requested.  This equipment will need to be signed out and returned to rental shop on each day of skiing.  This equipment is part of the rental fleet and is not guaranteed to be available on all days.  If purchasing equipment is a better option, there is great used equipment available at our annual Ski Swap (early November) or on our Facebook group PPK Snow Gear Swap.
