SUMMARY:Human Sled Dog Races
DESCRIPTION:Wintervention is back with the classic Human Dog Sled Race hosted by 40 Developmental Assets and Pass Powderkeg Ski Area! \nGo head to head in a race against time in this thrilling 400ft race to the finish. Teams of 3 will race to have the best time in order to win their category. Races are hosted at the PPK Lodge. Participants must be over the age of 12 and must complete a signed waiver/release of liability document. Participants under the age of 18 must have an adult or guardian sign the waiver. \nTeam Categories:\n– Teen (ages 12-17)\n– Adult (ages 18+)\n– Family (teens and adult combination). \nTeam Rules:\n1. All members must submit a signed waiver/release\n2. Children must be 12 years of age or older. The waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian over the age of 18.\n3. Two teams will compete against one another and the first entire sled with participants to cross over the finish line will win the race.\n4. The “Musher” (team member on the back of the sled) may push start the sled up to the line.\n5. Once the sled has crossed the start line\, the “Musher”‘s feet must remain on the sled in order to not aid the sled across the finish line\, EXCEPT at the 200’ turn to head home. \n*Any infraction of the rules above may result in team disqualification. \nExcited? Please bring a valid credit card\, ID or license\, as you will need that in order to try out a board. \nBringing the kids? The Burton Riglet program will be out in full swing. The perfect tool to get them out\, the Riglet system allows for children to jump on a board in the easiest\, most fun way possible. An instructor will be available all day to help get your child up and on a board\, and if lessons are of interest\, our snow school is ready to help you out!

DESCRIPTION:In partnership with Riversdale Resources\, we are excited to offer another after-school program this winter.  Give your kids an altitude adjustment by enrolling them in the Riversdale Rippers Après School Program; a unique five week program which focuses on skill development\, learning\, mountain safety and FUN! \nThe price of this program has been subsidized by Riversdale Resources’ generous donation in an effort to provide affordable access and promote active lifestyles for the youth of our community. \nPrice: Each 5 week session costs $125+GST and includes all instruction\, lift tickets for the sessions if required and rentals if required. \nAges: This program is offered to children of all abilities aged 6-13. Students will be split into groups based on age and ability. Lessons are then customized for their skill level. \nDates/Times: Participants must be at the lodge ready to begin lessons promptly at the times below. On Friday\, September 27\, we are hosting a WLD Cocktails & Conservation event to celebrate and support conservation in the Crowsnest Pass! The evening will feature local music with Tynan Groves\, local food\, a gin-tasting station and a cash bar featuring Wild Life Distillery cocktails made with botanical ingredients hand-foraged in The Pass. \nTickets $10 in advance | $15 at the door \nAll profits from ticket sales will go directly to conservation in the community. \nThis event is part of our Crowsnest Pass Community and Conservation Weekend\, which runs from Septemeber 27 to 29. \nDon’t forget to reserve your ticket online!
